Erwin Weerstra
B I O G R A P H Y
Erwin Rommert Weerstra studied piano, organ and composition at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
After completing his Master’s degree in piano at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Erwin continued his studies under Professor Andrzej Jasinski. His composition professors were Daan Manneke, Roderik de Man, and Yannis Kyriakides.
Erwin is a prizewinner in several international competitions, both as a performer and as a composer. In December 2025, he won second prize at the Concorso Internazionale di Composizione "Orazio Michi dell’Arpa” in Italy for his composition “Cari Lumi Che Pietosi”. Also in 2025, he won the “Absolute First Prize” at the Beethoven International Music Competition UK 2025 for his composition “ Il Vicolo Verde”, and in 2023, he won the “Annual Platinum Prize” as well as the “Pianist of the Year” award at the European Classical Music Awards 2023.
His compositions are published by Donemus.
